The DNA of our Team

Find out what makes our team... new team photos coming soon!

When I started Newcastle Speech Pathology more than 10 years ago, I was driven by a desire to give more to my clients. This desire grew from my own core values and what I saw as the attitudes and actions that are integral to successful client engagement and therapy outcomes. Growing from one to a team of two and then expanding to include many more members was a daunting experience. I knew how I operated, what I wanted to see, and the community of therapists and clients I wanted to build, but how was I going to make sure that my growing team worked the same way?

The strength of any team is in the diversity of personalities, strengths and weaknesses each member possesses. However, it’s the shared core values that build unity. Without shared core values, a team is simply a bunch of individuals. It’s the values that bring meaning and purpose to our understanding of our mission. It’s our core values that guide our attitudes and actions.

So when it comes to joining our team, what am I really looking for? When all the critical job-related skills have been met, above all else, I’m looking for someone who believes in and lives out our core values. Every team member at Newcastle Speech Pathology is here on purpose. They have been hand-picked because they embody our core values and are committed to living out our mission.

Today I wanted to share with you what exactly our core values are, so you can understand what is important to us and know what your therapist is striving for. A whole blog could be written about each element of our values, and how we live them out in our daily lives and clinical practice. But to start with, here’s a summary:

When you join us at Newcastle Speech Pathology, you can be assured that you are in the hands of a team who is seeking the best possible outcome for you. We're here to help.
