Sarah Mckinney

Hello! I’m Sarah and currently in my 3rd of studying Speech Pathology. I’m originally from a small town in country NSW, I’m one of four children so my childhood has pretty much revolved around the outdoors and everything the country has to offer.

I made the move to Newcastle 2 years ago to start my degree, and have loved changing it up having the beach at my back door. I have just started at Newcastle Speech Pathology as a Speech Coach, and I am excited to learn new things and meet lots of new faces!

Q - What’s great about being a speech coach?

A - I have only just started here but I am excited to be able to work with people that have studied the same degree and form new relationships with both colleagues and clients.

Q - What advantages do you see for clients using Speech Coaching?

A - The one-on-one time spent gives the client the opportunity to become more confident and familiar with skills they may need improvements in, as well feel like they are getting the attention they deserve. I think having the availability of these short 20 minute sessions makes them easy to complete during the week a fun way of working on developing skills!

Jessie Martinez

My name is Jessie Martinez and I’m part of the Speech Coaching team at Newcastle Speech Pathology. Working directly with our clinicians, I feel privileged to be able to contribute to the effectiveness of our client’s communication skills. I’m currently in the 4th and final year of my Speech Pathology degree at UON.

I love being active and spending time with my friends laughing, cooking and eating. I also spend a lot of my ‘free’ time taking care of my handsome and quirky Golden Retriever, Hansel, who is always up to mischief and keeps me on my toes.

Q - What do you love about working as a Speech Coach?

A -I love being able to support our clinicians and clients. My goal is to create a meaningful and effective experience in their speech pathology journey.

Q - What advantages do you see for clients using Speech Coaching?

A - I see a broad range of clients, and many of those are busy bees! To have access to speech pathology services in the comfort of their own home for a short but effective 20 minutes session is a great advantage in not only the current climate but throughout their speech pathology journey!
